Blueday Technologies Joins ZAWAS Project to Revolutionize Urban Water Transport
Blueday Technologies has joined the Zero-emission Automated Water Shuttles (ZAWAS) project, a groundbreaking national initiative aimed at transforming urban public transportation through zero-emission, autonomous water shuttles. The project seeks to create rapid, eco-friendly transit routes across waterways, reducing congestion and pollution in city centers.
The ZAWAS initiative, supported by Innovation Norway, is a collaborative effort between leading maritime and technology firms. As a key partner, Blueday Technologies is leveraging its expertise in sustainable maritime solutions to drive the project forward. Other industry leaders involved include Brødrene Aa, Hydrolift Smart City Ferries, Maritime Robotics, Massterly, Zeabuz, ZEM, and Westcon. Together, these companies are working to develop next-generation autonomous vessels, energy supply infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks to support the adoption of this innovative technology.
ZAWAS is a joint initiative of SAMS Norway, NCE Maritime CleanTech, and Nordic Edge Cluster, with a long-term vision to integrate cost-efficient, zero-emission water transport systems into urban environments worldwide. By harnessing Norway’s leading expertise in maritime technology, the project aims to set a new standard for sustainable, high-capacity public transport solutions on water.
