Egersund Landstrøm has selected BluEco® Shore Power System
Blueday Technology has signed an agreement with Egersund Landstrøm for delivery of a BluEco® Shore Power to Kaupanes quay phase two.
The opening of the shore power plant in Egersund phase one was official held in October 2019 and marked the start of a more climate-friendly port. Ships can now connect to shore power on two quays at Kaupanes area. An extension of the shore power plant was initiated already in December 2019 by installing sea cables from Kaupanes to the Hymek quay and the Dampskip quay.
The port has now further developed their intention and their commitment to the climate change by kicking off phase two to offer more shipowners to connect their ships to a climate friendly shore power solution. Through phase two, one power outlet is added Kaupanes, two outlets on the Steamship quay and one outlet on the Hymek quay. This will benefit ship types in bulk, freezer, trawlers, cable vessels and cargo.
Blueday Technology is proud to be selected as a total supplier for the solution and given a role in supplying our environmentally friendly technology supporting our vision “Technology for a cleaner society”.
By using the BluEco® Shore Power System the port secure reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and noise as well as vibrations, improving environmental conditions for people in and around the port. Blueday Technology will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the project. The operating center in Stavanger, will execute this contract, scheduled to be completed during Q4 2020.
